Glastonbury Abbey
Even after almost 2000 years, pilgrims still come to Glastonbury Abbey to take part in services, which continue the Abbey's tradition as a living Church. Every week, throughout the year, services are held in St. Patrick's Chapel – Tuesday at 10.30am. This chapel was founded by Abbot Richard Beere in 1500 and so has been witness to 500 years of Christian worship. In the summer months this service may transfer outside, to the crypt of the Lady Chapel, if the weather is fine.

Summer is the high point of the modern-day Glastonbury Pilgrimage. Begun by a few local Somerset churches in 1924, the pilgrimage has become a public expression of personal faith. Groups of worshippers come from all over Britain and Europe. On a Saturday in June, at noon, pilgrims gather inside the Abbey ruins. They then process from the Abbey and down the High Street with banners flying, as a procession of witness. Then returning to the ruined nave of the Abbey church, the assembled multitude of Christians receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist from the presiding bishop and the priests and deacons who are there to assist him.
On the same day, an Orthodox service is held in the ruins of the Lady Chapel to venerate the icon of Our Lady of Glastonbury. Musicians, choirs and actors entertain the pilgrims as the day progresses. Later in the day, the pilgrims again assemble in the ruins of the abbey to hear Pilgrims prayers and Evensong.
On the following day the Roman Catholic Pilgrimage takes place, beginning on the slopes of Glastonbury Tor, where the Bishop of Clifton and a visiting dignitary lead the singing pilgrims down to the ancient Abbey ruins where Mass is then celebrated.

Grace Community Church
Formerly Mid Somerset Community Church. Our prayer is that you will be blessed by God and that you too will want to 'know Christ and make Him known'. Why not pop in to see us next time you are near Glastonbury? We meet on a Sunday morning from 10.30am in Glastonbury at Landmark House.
Mid Somerset Community Church began 20 years ago when a group of people met to pray in a home in Glastonbury. Since then the church has established itself in the area and draws people from surrounding towns and villages. We are part of a family of churches from across the UK and overseas who have chosen to work together under the banner of Lifelink International (Global Horizons).
As a local church we are made up of people from diverse backgrounds who share a common faith in Jesus. As part of God's family we enjoy spending time together and supporting one another.

Quaker Meeting House (Street)
Quakers share a way of life rather than a set of beliefs and seek to experience God directly, within themselves and in their relationships with others and the world around. These direct encounters with the Divine are where Quakers find meaning and purpose in their lives. Quakers have been meeting in Street since the 1650's. The first Quaker Meeting House, built on the current site, was thatched and this was superseded in 1850 by the building that you see today.

St Margaret's Chapel & Almshouses
This small ancient chapel and the adjacent Magdalene Almshouses were once part of Glastonbury Abbey and the group of buildings dates back to around the 11th Century, when Glastonbury was a major pilgrimage destination. It was at first a Hospital for up to 13 sick men. Two rows of Men’s Almshouses replaced the Hospital in the 16th Century to accommodate the poor men in the parish until 1954. In 1960 one row of houses was destroyed and the other was restored together with the chapel. The Chapel, Almshouses and gardens are cared for by the Trustees and Volunteers of the Mary and Margaret Charity. The chapel is a Chapel of Ease – a place of quiet contemplation and prayer during the day, and is available in the evenings for group use.
